Mdslktr is a crazy electronic duo from Berlin – Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary. They have put out many releases and even more remixes. Everything these guys touch turns to gold and this album is no different. In particular, In Loving Memory and Hasir should be looked at on this album. When listening, allow yourself to hear the subtleties of the rhythm and sound, and the songs will consume you – drawing you inwards in an almost daze-like state. Again, this album ranks up in my top 10 all-time CDs. It’s definitely worth taking a look at if you can appreciate some quality electronic music.

Album of the Week (1) – Justice

October 7, 2009 1 comment

I’ve decided to start an Album of the Week post. I will give you a shot of one of my CDs and a brief description of it. I hope to be able to add a new CD every week – until I run out of CDs to share.

Album of the Week: Week 1

Artist: Justice
Album: Waters of Nazareth EP
: Ed Banger Records
Year: 2006

Justice - Waters of Nazareth

Justice - Waters of Nazareth

Track listing:

  1. Waters of Nazareth
  2. Let There Be Light (demo)
  3. Carpates
  4. Waters of Nazareth (Justice Remix)
  5. Let There Be Light (DJ Funk – Bounce Dat *ss Remix)
  6. Waters of Nazareth (Erol Alkan’s Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr Re-Edit)

Waters of Nazareth and Let There Be Light (DJ Funk Remix) are two of my all-time favourite driving songs. Waters of Nazareth became even more impressive when I found out it was included on the “electro” radio station soundtrack of GTA: IV. This is only an EP, not an album (so much for a good start to my “Album of the Week” – huh?), but it is still one of my favourite CDs.

Overall rating: 9.1 / 10
