Question in Reality
Suppose that there was a very old, historically significant wooden ship that we wished to preserve.
As it ages we notice a couple planks starting to rot and so we replace these rotten boards with identical replicas.
At this point I would be inclined to say that not one of us would accuse this ship of being not the original, real ship.
Suppose that this procedure of replacing rotting and broken ship parts continued until every last part of the original ship had been replaced over the course of a great many years.
Suppose that someone had collected all of the original, less than perfect, boards and had reassembled them into the original ship.
Now, which of these two ships would we consider to be the real, original ship?
- The ship that had been methodologically repaired over many years, or
- The ship that had been reassembled from all of the original components?
(I read this – more or less – somewhere else, but I can’t remember where right now. Regardless, I found it to be a very interesting question.)

Never Pay Full Price Again!
I was browsing around the internet and I stumbled across this little gem of a website:
http://www.retailmenot.com/
RetailMeNot.com provides coupons for over 40,000 different stores. The best part of this site is that (based on user reviews) the coupon codes are rated on how many times it has worked so you do not need to filter out all the expired or useless codes before finding one that works.
There are coupon codes for places like Old Navy, American Apparel, Amazon, eBay, and much more. Check it out next time you’re doing some online shopping – you might end up saving a few dollars!
RocketDock Desktop Environment
Here are a couple screen captures of my new RocketDock desktop environment running on Windows XP.
RocketDock is basically a docking application, similar to the one that comes with the Leopard OS. You can download replacement skins, high-resolution icons, and ‘docklets’ – sub-apps that run under RocketDock.
World Without Us
Well, it looks like the world is coming to an end. Finally!
With global warming, terrorism, nuclear weapons testing, the apocalypse of 2012, and the imminent biologically-mutated zombie pandemic… the end must truly be near.
Album of the Week (1) – Justice
I’ve decided to start an Album of the Week post. I will give you a shot of one of my CDs and a brief description of it. I hope to be able to add a new CD every week – until I run out of CDs to share.
Album of the Week: Week 1
Artist: Justice
Album: Waters of Nazareth EP
Label: Ed Banger Records
Year: 2006
Track listing:
- Waters of Nazareth
- Let There Be Light (demo)
- Carpates
- Waters of Nazareth (Justice Remix)
- Let There Be Light (DJ Funk – Bounce Dat *ss Remix)
- Waters of Nazareth (Erol Alkan’s Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr Re-Edit)
Waters of Nazareth and Let There Be Light (DJ Funk Remix) are two of my all-time favourite driving songs. Waters of Nazareth became even more impressive when I found out it was included on the “electro” radio station soundtrack of GTA: IV. This is only an EP, not an album (so much for a good start to my “Album of the Week” – huh?), but it is still one of my favourite CDs.
Overall rating: 9.1 / 10

Despite the level increase, medical associates are skeptical of any increased danger.

Now, that’s for regular run-of-the-mill H1N1… not the genetically mutated version dubbed “H1Z1” – the “Z” is for “zombie.”

Discussion of “Cyc” – only watch if you are interested in learning about this artificial intelligence project. The video runs about 10 minutes in length and is not exceptionally stimulating if you are new to the subject.
Greenpeace & Shell
You can read the Edmonton Journal report here: http://www.edmontonjournal.com/news/Stelmach+dismisses+protesters+tourists/2063562/story.html
He was “visibly irate”, according to the Edmonton Journal and various other sources.
Stelmach was quoted as saying that “‘the efforts [of Greenpeace protesters] are really aimed at harming our economy, putting Albertans out of work, putting Canadians out of work and really diminishing our quality of life.'”
